Chesapeake Beach Senior Session Marathon

This past weekend I got a chance to hang out with the amazing Natalie Franke during a marathon senior session she was doing. We hung out down at Brownie Beach on the eastern shore of Maryland, and the conditions couldn't have been better. Bright blue skies, nice warm sun and a gentle breeze to cool you down and gorgeous clients! The beach was rather packed so we tried to stay away from the crowds by going down towards the cliffs, which was totally cooler than sand anyways! I decided to use a couple new flash techniques I'd been playing around with to try to make some of the images pop a little more. I also got a chance to learn quite a few tricks from Natalie's skills too! She has a real knack for getting a sparkle in someone's eye at just the right moment! Make sure you check out her post here!

Here's a few results from an awesome day:

Before and After

Yep, I got wet making this image, not too bad though...see below

I was going to a beach, I should have brought sandals...guess I didn't think I get wet?

We had a blast! Make sure you book Natalie for your senior session fast!

Kyle's Senior Session

Last week the Cherry Blossoms were in full bloom and I met up with Kyle for his senior portrait session down in DC. The way I do senior sessions is very different from "traditional" senior portraits. The sessions I do are out in the world, in a location with some cool architecture and some connection to the individual. In this case we used the Lincoln Memorial, WWII Memorial and the surrounding areas for our backdrops. We still get some nice smile and pose shots for mom and dad, but for the most part it's a pretty big departure from traditional "senior portraits". Here's a few from Kyle's session:

As you can see, Kyle is a very unique individual!

April miniGTG in Richmond

A small group of us met up down at Tisha McUstions Studio down in Richmond, VA last Friday to just have some laughs and hang out. Names have been omitted to protect the seemingly innocent...

So what happens when you get 7 photographers in a studio designed for child portature? THIS  ----->

Note: I'm not really a fan of that song...but it's sort of an inside joke...and that's my doppleganger wearing the wings...not me...
